There are many different tasks that need to be done to operate BFL -- from greeting clients and helping with food baskets, to loading trucks and stocking food in the warehouse. Most of the work is done with the generous assistance of our volunteer workers.
The Foodline is happy to welcome volunteers from the ages of 12 through 100! All kidding aside, we have some work that every person can do that will help us in serving our mission to feed the hungry families of Bremerton. Our regular volunteer times begin at 9 a.m. each weekday (Monday through Friday) and ends at 2 p.m. You can work a whole day, a couple of hours a week, once a month, etc. Ideally we would like to be able to count on you for a specific schedule because it helps us adjust for our routine volunteer needs.

Volunteers are needed to sort donated food, repackage food, assist clients with food selections, and special projects (such as newsletter mailings, clothing drives or special events).

The volunteer application details our team policies including dress code. If you need to volunteer to meet a court ordered or Service-With-A-Smile community service obligation, please bring paperwork with you.

Watch our Home Page here for the schedule of upcoming events that need volunteer help. Typical events that we need volunteer help include our primary fundraiser The Empty Bowl in April, Help Stamp Out Hunger food drive in May, Bremerton Brewfest in July, Fall Harvest Work Day in August, Thanksgiving Foof Basket preparation and distribution in November, and Christmas Foodbasket preparation and distribution in December.

We also need help with our garden project in the spring and summer. Plus various repair and clean up events.

There are lots of opportunities and we hope that you will find a good fit. You are welcome to stop by to visit and see the facility any time we are open. Just ask for Rachel, Patti, or Susan. We look forward to seeing you soon.

If you would like to volunteer your time to BFL you can obtain the Volunteer Application either by downloading from [here] or dropping by our facility and picking one up.

You will need to complete the Volunteer Application and bring it in person with photo identification to the Foodline facility during regular business hours. Do not mail, drop thru the mail slot or have someone else deliver it.

Please note: There is a 2 working-day waiting period after your application is turned in, pending review and approval by BFL. All applications must be completed in entirety, and volunteers must adhere to all team member guidelines.
