Weekly Food Assistance
Bremerton Foodline (BFL) allows clients to come in and shop once a week at our grocery-style food bank. This model cuts down on food waste, and ensures that clients are able to sustain themselves by getting 50% of their weekly groceries with us.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of people with low income by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA Foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP.
Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) aims to enhance the health of low-income individuals aged 60 and older by providing them with nutritious foods from the USDA to supplement their diets.
Mail Program
Our mail program provides clients with a secure mailing address at our location, enabling them to receive personal mail and essential documents reliably. This service helps clients maintain privacy, ensures timely access to important paperwork, and offers a stable mailing address, especially for those experiencing housing instability or transitions.
Emergency Bags
Emergency Bags are available to support our unhoused clients by providing essential items to meet urgent needs. Each bag contains nutritious, non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and basic supplies like socks and hand warmers. These bags are designed to offer immediate relief, ensuring that clients have access to fundamental necessities and a sense of dignity and care during difficult times.
Holiday Food Market
Additional food support is offered around Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas as part of our regular weekly service to ensure clients have extra provisions for holiday meals. Distribution dates are announced at least one month in advance to allow clients ample time to prepare and plan.
Blossom Project
Through our Blossom program, we provide essential items like menstrual products, baby diapers, and additional hygiene supplies to support individuals and families in need. This service is accessible to all eligible clients without requiring any additional sign-up, ensuring that these critical products are readily available to those who need them. Blossom aims to alleviate the financial burden of basic necessities, promoting health and dignity for our community members.
KidVantage
In partnership with KidVantage, we offer additional resources specifically for children under 6 years old, including items such as clothing, shoes, toys, books, and essential baby gear. This service requires a one-time sign-up to ensure we can meet the unique needs of each child and family.
Birthday Cake Program
Thanks to our partnership with Cake4Kids, we’re delighted to offer custom birthday cakes and treats for children and young adults ages 1-24, helping make birthdays memorable for each recipient. Families can sign up in person at our front desk to request a special cake tailored to the child’s favorite themes or flavors.
Volunteer Program
We offer meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals to develop valuable skills, gain hands-on experience, and positively impact the community. Volunteers engage in areas like customer service, food distribution, and administrative support, allowing them to build their resumes, grow professional networks, and acquire practical skills for future careers.
