Volunteer

Thank you for choosing to volunteer at The Bremerton Foodline. Volunteers are a very important, collaborative component of our organization. We are thankful that you have chosen us to give of your time and talent. You most assuredly help make a difference!

Volunteer Application

There are many different tasks that need to be done to operate BFL - stocking shelves, harvesting fresh produce in our garden, assisting clients with their selections, and so much more.

With the generous assistance of our volunteers, we are able to keep our food bank running smoothly and serving over three hundred households every month.

Please note :

Volunteers are key in helping meeting our mission of feeding the hungry families of Bremerton. Our regular volunteer times begin at 9 a.m. each weekday (Monday through Thursday) and end at 2 p.m. You can work a whole day, a couple of hours a week, once a month, etc. Ideally, we would like to be able to count on you for a specific schedule because it helps us adjust for our routine volunteer needs.

We always need assistance to:

  • Sort donated food
  • Repackage food
  • Assist clients with food selections
  • Special projects (such as newsletter mailings, clothing drives or special events)

The volunteer application details our team policies including dress code.

We also need volunteers for events. Watch our Home Page for the schedule of upcoming events and follow us in Facebook for updated news of events, needs and volunteer opportunities!

Typical events that we need volunteer help include:

  • Primary fundraiser - Help Stamp Out Hunger food drive in May
  • Thanksgiving Food Basket preparation and distribution in November
  • Christmas Food basket preparation and distribution in December
  • Garden project in the spring and summer
  • Various repair and clean up events

There are lots of opportunities and we hope that you will find a good fit. You are welcome to stop by to visit and see the facility any time we are open, just ask for one of our friendly staff members! We look forward to seeing you soon.

You will need to complete the Volunteer Application and bring it in person with photo identification to the Bremerton Foodline facility during regular business hours. Do not mail, drop thru the mail slot or have someone else deliver it.
Please note: There is a 2 working-day waiting period after your application is turned in for pending review and approval by BFL.  All applications must be completed in entirety, and volunteers must adhere to all team member guidelines.
If you would like to volunteer your time to BFL you can obtain the Volunteer Application either by downloading the form below  drop by our facility to pick one up.
