Located in the heart of downtown Bremerton, Bremerton Foodline is a vital nonprofit dedicated to reducing hunger and supporting self-sufficiency. Our busy food bank serves more than 500 households per week, and as Kitsap County’s Redistribution Organization, we reallocate over 2 million pounds of food annually to partner food banks, shelters, and meal programs.

About the Role
We are seeking a systems thinker who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and leading others with kindness and confidence. The Food Bank Coordinator manages the daily operations of the food bank - ensuring efficient food distribution, excellent client service, and

Position Summary
The Food Bank Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily food bank operations, ensuring food distribution, client services, and related activities run smoothly and effectively. This role involves working closely with staff, leading volunteers, engaging with community partners, and ensuring compliance with food safety and other regulations. The position reports to the Program Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Pantry Management
● Collaborate with the Operations Coordinator to manage pantry restock supply and ensure shelves are stocked daily. Client Services
● Interact directly with clients to assess needs and connect them to resources.
● Support intake processes, translation, and address unique client circumstances.
● Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment that respects the dignity of all clients.
Volunteer Coordination
● Train, supervise, and guide volunteers; create daily task lists in collaboration with the Operations Coordinator and Program Manager.
● Educate volunteers on cultural competency, sensitivity, and best practices. Community Partnerships ● Promote BFL’s mission and history; assist with donation deliveries alongside the Operations
Coordinator or Development Director.
Facility Management
● Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment; uphold sanitation and safety standards
through daily cleaning and procedures.
Record Keeping & Reporting
● Maintain accurate client intake records and volunteer hour logs.
Compliance & Safety
● Ensure adherence to food safety standards, volunteer protocols, and other regulatory
requirements.
Communication & Leadership
● Communicate effectively with clients, volunteers, staff, and external partners.
● Prevent and resolve conflicts professionally.
● Confidently lead volunteers and clients, modeling a positive, enthusiastic, and coaching approach.
● Apply systems thinking and embrace a growth mindset in all aspects of the work.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
● 35-40 hours/week availability
● Ability to lift 25+ lbs repeatedly
● Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Drive)
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Resourceful and proactive problem-solver
● Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities
● Flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends
● High school diploma or GED
Preferred
● Fluency in Spanish and/or Mam
● Experience with warehouse equipment (pallet jack, commercial refrigeration, etc.)
● Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
● College degree

Level/Salary Range: $19 per hour Position

Type: Hourly – 30-40 Hours per week (6 Month Probation Period)
